Has it really been since 2012 that I last posted here?  

Damn you, Dwarf Fortress!

But, no, seriously; I've managed to general quite a few half-decent project ideas... so many, in fact, that I can't seem to make any headway on any of them.  I'm also not sure why I need post about it here, since none of them art artistic.  Still, a few people follow me, so what the heck.

On the one hand, I have the novel I've already written.  It was meant to have four sequels.  Instead, I want to rewrite the first, and make it a trilogy... but I still have so much to think about on that one.

There's also another novel series I intend to do; but I have no more than characters and an initial setting to work with.

There's a space-based survival online persistent-um-planet(!) strategy hame I intend to make.

Oh, and, some years after that, an MMO set in the same story 'universe' but in a different time period.

And then there's all the community editing... I mean, service... projects I intend to do; A community good-cooking algorithm, a debate-and-journalism algorithm, and even an entirely new educational system algorithm to flesh out, design, and bring forth into reality.

But I think I'll end up spending my day off tomorrow playing dwarf fortress and/or skyrim instead.

I seem to spend more time redesigning the thing than using the thing, but I've gone and redesigned www.jeturcotte.com once again.  This time, I wanted to clean it up and make it more extensible for other future updates (such as per-category menu options as well as per-process options as they stand now.)  I also will use it a bit to test upcoming software inventions.  I also really need to add photography/art uploading and display and allow for user commentary.

But this does mean I need to use the damn thing more, and I do have a litany of topics that are festering within my skull.  Economy, ecology, projects, politics, etc.

It's too expensive and not nearly effective enough.  I think maybe I can do something about that.

It seems that editing an old entry doesn't give it a new date (thus popping it up to the top again.)

Having written my own blog software, it is closing in one done... it's even usable (if annoying) as is... what remains to do are:

1-- Invent a means of diving written content into particles that can then properly be re-encapsulated later for paginated display
2-- Automatically display the latest article on the site (even if that means sidescrolling to it on another panel)
3-- Invent a means by which I, as the administrator, can edit existing content (of course, I should perfect this later!)
4-- Invent a means by which readers can leave comments
5-- Invent some kind of syndication package that places like facebook can read correctly
6-- Invent an image upload and display mechanism
7-- Invent an RSS feed mechanism (http/www.jeturcotte.com/rss/al…)

... that ought to be it; #1 and #2 will enable the site to be wholly useful to me, while the rest can go in when I find the time.

following that, I need to get busy with a few things:

8-- Take a couple of the story prompts I've built up lately and write a few short stories
9-- Start the 30 Days of Writing thingie that Koyanagi did
10-- Do a rendered artwork
11-- Detail, at great length, how TGS should operate; do a little research into what it'll take to do it
12-- Think about WEIM
13-- Save the world
14-- Love Katherine (at all times)
